#5 Black & White

From color blocking to graphic prints, the classic black and white color combo was everywhere!


#4 Heavy Metal Details

2013 was all about adding a little edge to your look and dancers just couldn’t get enough exposed zippers, studs and spikes!


#3 Combat Boots

In 2013 the world went gaga for combat boots and all high top shoes with a boot silhouette. Dancers were literally pairing combat boots and boot top shoes with everything: shorts, leggings, harem pants- and yes, even tutus.


#2  Print Leggings

Oh the fantastic prints! Stripes, metallic leopard, rainbow cheetah, galaxy, graffiti… it goes on and on. Leggings are such a staple of the dance wardrobe that adding a print is the perfect way to shake up your wardrobe and try something new without sacrificing function.

#1 Sheer Mesh Cutouts


Next to black & white, this is by far the easiest of the trends to pull off in any style of dance from classical ballet to crunk. It’s simultaneously daring and reserved, sophisticated and edgy. Dare we say mesh cutouts are the new strappy back? Maybe…
