The Birthday Club

By on November 7, 2016

Broadway is the place to be to celebrate your birthday. Here at An American In Paris, we have a birthday club. The way it works is simple, there’s a sign up sheet where members of the cast sign up to celebrate their birthday and choose a dessert that they would like to have on their special day. The person who celebrates their birthday buys dessert for the next birthday celebration and so on.

But you don’t have to have dessert! My friend Allison wanted a six foot sub sandwich instead of cake for her birthday. It was bigger than she is! The cakes/sandwiches have to be big enough to feed everyone in the theater including the actors, management, the crew, orchestra, and costume department and sometimes even the ushers.

When the cast sings happy birthday it is magical. There are so many trained singers so you can imagine how great it sounds when everyone sings in perfect harmony.

It’s a blast to celebrate your birthday on Broadway!
