So Much Talent at This Year’s Jimmy Awards

By on August 30, 2015

DNShannon_GeneKelly_MAINI attended this year’s National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA), also known as the Jimmy Awards. It’s a national celebration of outstanding student achievement in high school musical theatre that recognizes individual artistry in vocal, dance, and acting performance, and honors teachers and their schools’ commitment to performing arts education. It’s overwhelming to see so many talented teenagers onstage competing for the Jimmy Award!

The judges had to make a difficult decision to choose only two winners out of fifty-two high schoolers from all across the country. The best performance was presented to Marla Louissaint and Anthony Skillman. They each gave outstanding performances and have bright futures ahead of them. I look forward to seeing their names in lights on Broadway in the near future.
