Shannon Marie Rugani – Teaching

By on July 8, 2013

Teaching has had the biggest impact on my dance career. As a professional dancer I rarely have to break down steps the way I have to as a teacher. Having to translate my thoughts into words has been very beneficial because I have become more aware of what I think of while I’m dancing.

To get the most out of your body, work hard and work smart.

I teach my students to always think about what they are about to do and to understand what they need to do before they dance. Your body will do anything it’s told to do, so dancing deliberately is the key to dancing your personal best.

Henry Ford once said “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.” You can do anything you set your mind to. So set your mind to be the best dancer you can be and dance with conviction!
